There are 3 well known commercial species, 2 atlantic species (Sebastus Marines & Sebastes Mentella) and 1 pacific Specie (Sebastus Alutes.) The Atlantic species are caught in the North East Atlantic, from Iceland to Norway. There is a good population in these species and there are sustainable as well, some fisheries also have a MSC certificate . This is in general a small size fish, sometimes processed on board, (Seafrozen product), but there a several factories on Land as well. Redfish has a flaky and soft structure with a typical fi shy flavor, the taste is light and naturel and therefor popular and well known by many European consumers.
